Consulting
Macintosh/Mac OS X
I have been working with Apple's
Macintosh
since 1986, in various capacities:
| "the Mac guy"
an answer man, of sorts |
sheet music publisher |
assistant systems and maintenance
administrator |
| typist |
map maker |
web publisher |
| desktop publisher |
process automator |
network designer |
| secretary |
photo processor |
digital audio studio operator |
| one-on-one trainer |
home recordist |
video production systems consultant |
| system tech |
graphic designer |
and most of all:
student |
There are very few major programs for the Mac that I haven't
used. My clients appreciate that I bring this experience to
bear upon their problems, quickly learning new technologies
and concepts when it will benefit them.
I ensure that my clients get their problems solved. That
means that if my capabilities are not enough to resolve the
problem alone, I will help the client get back to work as
soon as possible by finding someone who can.
Many of my clients are Macintosh fans, and they appreciate
that I share their enthusiasm. Life would be something less
without it.
AppleScripting/Perl scripting
Any application that supports AppleScript can be automated
to some degree. Some tasks can be accomplished through automation
by orchestrating several applications on several machines.
On Mac
OS X, some types of tasks can even benefit from Perl scripting.
I have shaved several man-weeks off of a number of projects
through judicious scripting. I have clients who don't even
realize the deadlines they would have missed and by
how far if it hadn't been for AppleScript. Of course,
it takes someone who knows how to use it....
